Dr. Jacqueline Jacobs is a licensed mental health therapist and a professional school counselor. Her background includes experience with helping students ranging from Pre-K to high school through individual and group counseling. As a school counselor, she has a desire to help youth with any trauma that may impact their academics, social relationships and their emotional well-being. She believes that everyone can be more successful with support and guidance.
Her primary counseling approach focuses on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She believes that a change in mindset will impact a change in behavior. CBT helps people problem solve and is goal oriented. CBT can be used to treat anxiety, depression, anger management and other problems that may impact the quality of life. She has been called in to assist with the Crisis Intervention Team for Prince Georges County schools.
Her educational background includes a doctoral degree in Counseling Leadership and Supervision as well as a master’s degree in School Counseling. She is also a certified clinical supervisor.
